6.21. Switching to a single-interface configuration

6.21.1. Introduction

For further details on the single interface configuration and the double interface configuration, see the `MGMT0` and `VPN0` network interfaces.
This procedure outlines the switchover from a double interface configuration to a single interface configuration.

Important

The user will lose the session if the connection between the GCenter and the user's PC is made remotely via SSH.
In order to avoid this disconnection, connect to the GCenter (see the Preliminary operations).

6.21.2. Prerequisites

  • User: setup

6.21.4. Procedure for displaying the current configuration

The configuration menu is displayed.

  • Select the Network line or press the letter N.

  • Click on the OK button.
The Hostname configuration window is displayed:
    Hostname configuration
    Interface configuration: mgmt0 Enabled
    Interface configuration: vpn0 Enabled
    Interface configuration: icap0 Disabled
    Interface configuration: sup0 Disabled
    DNS configuration
    NTP configuration

    ─────────────────────────────────────────
          <Configure> <Back>

For each of the 4 interfaces, the system displays its status.

The double interface configuration is indicated by:

  • The status of mgmt0: Enabled

  • The status of vpn0: Enabled

    • Single interface configuration
SSH and VPN connections are handled by the mgmt0 interface.
In this case, the system displays:
      Hostname configuration
      Interface configuration: mgmt0 Enabled
      Interface configuration: vpn0 Disabled

In this example, the current configuration is single interface, vpn0 is Disabled

In this case, there is nothing to do.

    • Double interface configuration
The SSH connection for the GCenter management is handled by the `mgmt0` interface.
The VPN communication is controlled by the `vpn0` interface.
In this case, the system displays:
      Hostname configuration
      Interface configuration: mgmt0 Enabled
      Interface configuration: vpn0 Enabled

In this case, continue with this procedure.

6.21.5. Procedure for switching from double to single interface configuration

  • First of all, unpair the GCap: to do so, refer to the GCap documentation

  • Use the network command to modify the status of the VPN0 (from enable to disable): to do so , refer to the `Network` command

  • Rewire the network cables if necessary.

  • On the GCap; use `the Pairing between a GCap and a GCenter` procedure.
